My name is Susan C. Lopez, I am the Year Round Day Camp Director at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme at the Martin V. Smith Youth Center. I live in Ventura with my son. I grew up in a small town called Saticoy; it was there when I worked for the Ventura County Parks and Recreation over 18 years ago, it was there I realized the need to make a difference in the lives of our children in our community. I went back to school and received my G.E.D. and continued to receive my Associate of Arts Degree in Business Management.  I also took Early Childhood Development classes to complete my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development.  I have been working for the Boys & Girls Club for ten years; I am honored to say I received three years in a row the National Service Youth Award and completed Youth Development Professional Managers Track I Training. My hobbies are swimming, softball, laughing, joking around, and having lots of fun. I am blessed to have this wonderful opportunity to be a part of an organization that has a mission to reach all youth.  Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive responsible and caring citizens. Our staff and volunteers are trained professionals and have a passion for working with our members.  In our theme camps we offer our club  members a variety of fun filled activities through out the day.  Our themes surround our 5 Core areas, Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, The Arts, Health and Life Skills, Sports, Fitness, and Recreation.  We plan fun field trips; we invite guest speakers to speak to our members and have special events for our club members to enjoy.  I would like to take a moment to introduce to you our Year Round Day Camp staff.
