OXNARD- (June 21, 2007) – On Monday, June 18, 2007 the  Boys & Girls Club of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme hosted the 15th Annual Fore the Kids Golf Classic, honoring Carl Lowthorp and Bob McMillan. The Charity tournament, Presented by Suncal Companies and represented by Mike Walline, was held on Monday, June 18th, at Ojai Valley Inn. This year’s tournament netted more than $50,000.

Former Laker and Boys & Girls Club Alumnus, James Worthy joined for a round of golf and served as the keynote speaker for the dinner that evening.  A product of the Boys Club, James continues to be an advocate for the organization, and through his dedication and generosity, generated additional funds for the Clubs by donating memorabilia and a VIP night out at a Laker game with “Big Game” James touching on teamwork and philanthropy.  His appearance was sponsored by LandAmerica Lawyers Title and McCarthy Construction & Development.

The funding from this event will help support the programs and services at the 26 Boys & Girls Club locations in Oxnard and Port Hueneme.
