John Ratzenberger and his Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs Foundation Invite The Boys And Girls Clubs of America And The Make-A-Wish Foundation to be His Special Guests
John Ratzenberger's Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs Foundation holds a private charity screening of Disney•Pixar's Ratatouille.

July 6, 2007

Ingredients for a very special day!: On June 24th, 2007 actor John Ratzenberger, the only actor to voice a character in every Disney•Pixar film was a gracious host to over 400 guests at the Disney Studio Lot for a Pre-Release Benefit Screening of Ratatouille (rat.a.too.ee). Two-hundred and fifty children from The Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Paula, Oxnard, Simi Valley, Conejo Las Virgenes, Burbank and San Fernando Valley and the Make-A-Wish Foundation where John's special guests thanks to Neil Sherman and Industrial Metal Supply's generous contribution and partnership.

The Nuts, Bolts and Thingamajigs Foundation, co-founded by Ratzenberger created a day inspired by the films story and the mission of the foundation: Introducing young people to the pleasures of tinkering and working with their hands. The LA Mission College sent an incredible team of 12 Chef's from their Culinary Arts Department to prepare Ratatouille, fruit crepes and the children enjoyed making chocolate dipped strawberries. Children enjoyed playing and exploring with rolling pins, flour snifters and making dough. Limoneira Orchards provided lemons and all the fixings for making their own lemonade.

"Carrots for Kids" garden kits provided by Agromin and Urban Farming shared gardening tips and planted vegetable seeds. The sound of hammers filled the day as children learned how to drive nails into two by fours and work with tools. Straight from Pixar Headquarters, John Lasseter and his team sent incredible Ratatouille gifts for our raffle. The entire series of Disney•Pixar films autographed by John Lasseter and director Brad Bird, posters, t-shirts and an abundance of toys were raffled off before each screening.

Throughout the entire day, Ratzenberger greeted each and every person and the children were delighted to meet Mr. Ratzenberger and have their picture taken with him. "This was an once-in-a-lifetime experience for all of these children and that is what it is really all about, our children," says co-founder and Artistic Director, Lindsay Mcgrail.
