Boys and Girls Clubs Organizing Music Groups

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme and the Rio School District are forming choir and orchestra groups in partnership with musicians, maestro Dino Zonic and choir performer and director Julia Zonic.

The program welcomes all youths who are interested in being a part of this new music program. Priority will go to youths attending school in the Rio district. Beginning, intermediate and advanced students are encouraged to come and learn about this opportunity. Musical instruments, although limited in quantity, will be provided for all enthusiasts.

The times, dates and locations for auditions are:

n 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Rio Lindo Elementary, 2131 Snow Ave., Oxnard.

n 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Rio del Norte Elementary, 2500 Lobelia Drive, Oxnard.

n 2 to 6 p.m. July 11 at Rio Real Elementary, 1140 Kenny St., Oxnard.

n 2 to 6 p.m. July 12 at Rio Plaza Elementary, 600 Simon Way, Oxnard.

n 2 to 6 p.m. July 13 at Rio del Valle Middle School, 3100 Rose Ave., Oxnard.

n 2 to 4 p.m. July 16 at Port Hueneme Boys & Girls Club, 590 E. Pleasant Valley Road, Port Hueneme.

n 4:30 to 7 p.m. July 16 at Martin V. Smith Boys & Girls Club, 1900 W. Fifth St., Oxnard.

Dino Zonic is the founder and president of Unity through Music, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create unity on earth by awakening the spirit of humanity through music.
