Jose Ramirez
Job Developer
E-Mail

Jose Ramirez was born and raised in Oxnard, CA. Upon graduation from Oxnard High School he received a full academic scholarship to the University of California at Santa Barbara where he graduated with degrees in Business Economics and Communication.  While at UC Santa Barbara he began working with at risk youth populations.  He served as case manager for a local Gang Intervention Program, Public Relations Assistant for UCSB’s Early Academic Outreach Program, and as a Community Coordinator abroad in Rio De Janiero, Brazil. Upon graduation he received a job as a Radio Disc Jockey and Promotions Assistant with Q104.7 FM in Ventura, California.  He and Dj StillWil had their own hip hop show on Friday nights “The Session” which served as their platform to address social issues and represent and preserve the essence of hip hop culture which had disappeared in the mainstream.

Today he has over ten years experience working with various at-risk youth populations including foster youth, probation kids, those with autism and developmental disabilities, mental health, and high school dropouts.  He is passionate about working as a Job Developer with the Boys & Girls Club organization and is aimed not only at helping youth find employment, but also empowering them to become better people.
